Guys. I’ve been lusting over crazy patterns lately. As predicted, the trend is going strong – pattern over pattern over pattern. There’s no end to it! And I’m sure you’re loving it too.
It all started on the catwalk with some pattern play by famous designers, and boom! The trend caught on. Street style, design, print, everyone is embracing the mix of colourful motifs. Johanna Tagada is no exception. I love the way she matches textures with chunky color blocks. It has a bit of an 80’s vibe, minus the mom jeans, of course. There’s also a smidge of Japanese drawing inspiration in here, can you see it? The light black strokes remind me of Japanese calligraphy and patterns found in antique porcelain ware.
And of course I couldn’t resist to go window shopping through the interwebz, using Johanna’s work as inspiration. So here you have it, a little virtual shopping spree for dudes that like to play with colour and pattern. Fun, yes?!
