Hi friends! I’m back from a much needed, long weekend. I went to visit some friends in the Canadian wine country (I’ll be sharing some pictures later this week) and got to enjoy a bit of pre-summer weather.
Today’s post totally reminds me of happy summer memories. Full of popsicles, coconut tanning oil, and sandy feet. These paintings by Michael Ward are paintings of photos he took throughout the years, in different beaches around California. You can feel the nostalgia in every detail – the retired old man relaxing in his chair, the bright store signs, the lush greenery. And of course, all tinted with delightful pastels.
Can you feel the ocean breeze? Just stare at Michael Ward’s work for a bit and I bet you’ll be transported to your favorite summer spot. Enjoy!

These are fantastic. I love that they look like photographs, + the simplicity of them, and the retro vibe. Nice find.
