These distorted paintings by Gregory Chiha are making me feel things. I love his technique and all the rough texturized and colorful brush strokes he uses. The combination of still life scenes and almost surreal/dreamy portraits is perfect and haunting at the same time.
I bet lots of us feel this way when we struggle with stress, we feel like a blur in a room, lost and confused. And since I know a lot of you who read this blog are creative minds at heart (like moi), I (we) know very well how anxiety can play tricks on us, ama right? It’s easy to let work and other things get in the way of relaxing and we can get stuck in a rut. Gawd am I guilty of that.
In the last picture, you can almost see how one of the characters is trying to break free (also, note the detail on the lace of her shawl, soo goood). Free from the craziness of too much city life?
Let’s leave anxiety and other stressful thoughts alone and instead let’s relax by exploring more in depth the work of Gregory’s work.
