A little bit of Björk, a little bit of Massive Attack and a whole lotta cool: that’s what Fiordmoss sounds like.
Here’s what Petra – lead singer of this Czech duo – has to say about their dreams and inspiration:

WHAT’S YOUR DREAM:
The dream is to move on constantly, we are never completely satisfied with things we’ve done which makes us work and explore the world of music further.. So the dream is never to be really satisfied, which would end the journey and freeze everything.
WHERE DOES YOUR INSPIRATION COME FROM:
The lives we live. Things we see and hear and read. Everything and nothing, inner thoughts, nightmares, strong stories from the outer world. It’s a matter of having all the senses alerted, that way nothing can pass you by, and you get easily inspired by things. That way you do not actually feel inspired, but it is natural.
WHO’S YOUR FAVORITE ARTIST:
Well there are so many… But to name just a few it would be PJ Harvey, Bat For Lashes, Kate Bush, Frédéric Chopin, Claude Debussy, Jon Hopkins, Michael Nyman, Fever Ray. But like it has been said, there are so many of them.. it is almost unfair to name only some of them!
Agreed! Inspiration should just come naturally. I think the more you challenge yourself to do something new and ‘scary’, something creative and rewarding, the easier inspiration will strike. In order to keep your art machine going, you gotta oil it, right?
Fiordmoss’ video – Tigermy – reminds me of the story ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf‘ . It would’ve been awesome if my mom played their music while she read the story. Lucky for us, Fiordmoss created their own adult version of a fairy tale {extra bonus points for creating a video using illustration and stop motion!}
Fantastic, yeah? Well, now that I got you all hooked on Czech talent, here’s a little gift for you:
