During these harsh winter times (they aren’t that bad but I’m dramatic with weather stuff) I always look for colorful inspiration – like the one I posted last week – something that brightens the blog and would look great hanging on the wall. As per usual my Google reader is puking posts from all the peeps I follow and, while attempting to clean the creative mess, I found Michael Cina‘s work – score!
I’ve seen Michael’s work before and even pinned it but never looked through his whole website – I was missing a colourful party! I am digging the simplicity of his technique – letting colours flow and do their own thing. Here’s a little blurb about his art:
My background is rooted in minimal and graphic communication and visual narratives. I am exploring many different ideas in my practice, thus the form and medium is varied.
Michael is also the Creative Director of Cina Associates – a design studio filled with creative minds. Cina Associates has worked for different brands to create pretty cool things: like this happy table designed for Facebook, now how freaking rad is that?
I would love to share more about him but I don’t wanna spoil the surprise (plus I gotta run for dins and a movie with Mr. Yams – Greek food and Chronicle to be specific – or to be more specific: I will stuff my face ’til I have to undo my belt and then I’ll pass out in the theatre – pure fucking class!)
Cheers

I’ll be honest. This totally inspires me… I have to pack my paints up soon (we’re moving) and the thought of spending a couple months separated from them makes me want to just paint every day until we leave. Seriously!
Good post. I love looking at the colors just smearing together.
If I have any luck emulating, I’ll let you know.

Oh, thanks for posting, just checked his site, an absolute riot of colour (makes me wonder why I’m working mono chromatically at the moment?). Delightful!
