Ok so this is like a super overdue, about 2 weeks ago I went to Raw Canvas in yaletown http://www.raw-canvas.com/ with my friend Joelle and her 2 super cool and super crazy friends (Jessica and Dinara).  That day they had open mic night and to be honest I haven’t been to an open mic in a while, the last one I attended was in Mexico and it was painful ! more painful than a habanero chile colon cleanse.

But anyways, I stayed positive and went to see it, and wow, we had a blast. First we got some funky beats with these cool hipstery dudes, they reminded me a bit of  the singer of N.E.R.D. , you know which one? the short little black-ish guy. The best part of the night though was this rapper… I forgot his name, but he raps sometimes freelance on Granville at night, anyways, he came up to the table and asked for inspiration for his next song , to which we all said…. CATS IN HEAT!  haha, yup, it was the beginning of spring and we all had that….urge.

He went ahead and rapped like a maniac, using “cats in heat” every 20 seconds, haha it was amazing! somehow the words “I ain’t a dude that no like no bestiality” and “I’m in heat yo” got mixed together and sounded like a poem. So, I recommend you go there, grab a drink and think about something you would like to hear in a rap song, food perhaps? fat monkeys? santa on crack? your ex getting hit by a bus? you name it! he will rap it.
