Ok, what did I tell ya? I cannot be away from this blog too long eh? This is not a regular post though! You’ll see why in just a sec…
You know, life works in many miraculous ways, and I truly believe (and even mentioned it during my Blog Podium seminar) that if you keep pushing, good things will come to ya. Your efforts will be rewarded. Sometimes in ways that you never thought would be possible!
So, my friends, I have news. BIG NEWS. Ready? Ok.
You know the guys from Go Mighty, right? The ones that are amazingly skilled at helping you achieve life goals. Well, these awesome fellas have partnered with Tourism Australia and Air New Zealand to bring 10 bloggers Down Under for a lifetime adventure! All while fulfilling a series of Australia-inspired goals, of course. And guess who’s been invited!!? (insert Oprah voice). Yup. I am one of these 10 lucky bloggers! (I would use X100 exclamation marks, but I don’t want to break my keyboard, ’cause you know, I’ll need it to write updates on oz happenings).
If you’ve been to ‘roo land, please send me some tips! I’m already working on my goals but I’ll surely need help to find the best spots!
Can’t wait to share more details with ya! Oh and keep reading to find out how you could win an Australian adventure of your own!
Massive thanks to Tourism Australia, Air New Zealand, and Go Mighty for making this possible.
If a trip Down Under is a dream you’ve had, be sure to check Tourism Australia’s site for all sorts of information about Australia; in addition, Tourism Australia, Air New Zealand and Go Mighty are running two additional campaigns to help make your dream come true in 2014: the first, Fill-A-Plane, where you can sign up to be one of 322 people to get a special discount on air travel for folks who take the pledge to travel to Australia next year; the second, “Win a Wild Card ticket to Australia,” for a chance to win a trip to Australia, by simply becoming a member of Go Mighty and adding your wildest Australia-based dreams. I think you need to add a desert adventure/ indigenous art experience… Alice Springs or Northern Territory… possibly an indigenous eco tourism thing or camp visit etc…. learning a traditional craft/painting.
and or a trip across the Nullabour…
both these will give you a sense of the expanse and depth of this country…..
Re an art walk in Melbourne… you might want to connect with guru duru who does silent disco walking tours in the city….. https://www.facebook.com/gurududu?fref=ts
and would definitely add or include a street art tour in this…..
Mona art gallery in hobart is a must http://www.mona.net.au/
… as is a walk in the forest in Tasmania……. (before our ultra conservative government chop it all down)
and if you are around in June then a visit to the Northern rivers

Hiiiiii Gabriel!
First, truly really excited for you!! Second, love your curatorial aesthetic! and finally, I lived some time down under and would be happy to give you some tips, while I daydream with misty eyes of tim tams (I don’t know if they are everywhere now, but I was in serious withdrawal agony of this chocolate bar when I came back and I found one, just once, years later in a supermarket in Mexico City).
Whitsundays and Fraser Island, DO IT, one is a three day sailing boat tour to perfect beaches and the other is a camping island, a reservoir for dingos where you are dumped in a jeep with strangers and cook and sing and prowl the island at your merriment.
In Sydney, there are some staples that you have to visit, as the Opera House, surfing in Bondi, a concert in Darling Harbour, abseiling in Blue Mountains, etc, but definitely also have some dumplings on Chinatown, go to Pancakes on the Rocks for a sugar rush and take a towel and a frisbee to Hyde Park for an impromptu match and some sunbathing. There are also tons of National Parks around where you can walk and camp with different tracks for different endurances, I highly recommend them as the views are quite breathtaking.
In Melbourne, the street art is a must so be sure to take a tour.
Alice Springs and Uluru are amazing, pretty difficult to get there (as in expensive) but worth it for all the cultural significance, also swimming with whale sharks in Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia.
All the big cities have some phenomenal art festivals, like Vivid Sydney and Melbourne Festival, so make sure you know of them when choosing your travel dates.
That’s all I can come up with right now but if you want to get in touch with someone there I can gladly recommend you some friends that are the epitome of the No-worries Australian blokes. Cheers! :)
