So as you know I’m not a very DIY-y person but, sometimes your hands just itch to get creative – especially around the holidays!
Since this weekend I felt a bit under the weather, I decided to test a few ideas for gift wrapping, something a bit different than the usual tissue paper and ribbon. So, I gather a few ideas from the interwebs and got my glue gun in action [blows glue gun smoke].
I know, it ain’t THE best wrapping job ever, but it was fun to test. I’ll probably redo it with a few different colours. The inspiration was drawn primarily from the dress above, which is full of texture! (Makes it THAT much more interesting, yah?). I remember as a kid I used to always look for the weirdest things to wrap presents – my poor parents got many chocolates and scarves wrapped up in toilet paper, leaves, and even a sock. HA! Enjoy that ferrero ma.
If you have some tulle in your odds-and-ends closet, get it out and put it to use! Buy some plain paper, some pompons and glue that shiz together. Even if you need to buy the fabric it’s not expensive at all (got a few odd pieces of tulle for $2 each. Score!)
Can you imagine a tree FULL of gifts with colourful pompons and tulle? That’s colour, texture, fashion, and design….SAY WOOOTT!! [snapping fingers in Z-formation]. Holy holiday awesome yo!
So, what are you using to wrap your presents this year? (Hopefully it ain’t a sock).
