Floral Aura: A selection of ikebana-inspired arrangements and mystical colourful emanations
I am super excited to show you this collaboration with Vancouver floral designers The Wild Bunch, a duo speared by the lovely Alexandra and Nassi, super talented gals and a joy to work with.
The main inspiration for these series is Ikebana, the Japanese tradition of floral arrangements that’s minimal, beautiful, and structural and that’s growing in popularity in the recent years. Since I wanted to throw a little colour in there too, I added the “aura” component; a few colourful lights encasing the arrangement, as if they are emanating from the flowers themselves.
Enjoy the rest of the series and feel free to share :)
Thank you to The Wild Bunch for collaborating with us in this editorial.

Hello Gabriel, I came to your blog after I saw a picture of your Young Coconut Chocolate Slushie. I was in awe of your photography. At the time I remember thinking I sure wish there was a recipe of that Slushie. It had all the ingredients that I love and there it was!! Much to my amazement I was able to get inspiration not only from your photography but I could sip on that Slushie while doing so. Thank you so much for generously sharing recipes with your extroadinary ability to capture the depth of your creations. Photography is my weakest ability but through yours maybe I have some hope yet. By the way, I added coconut rum to the Slushie for our girls night and it was delicious.
