Hello!
How are you doing? Ready to enjoy the weekend? I am!
It has been quite the week. School, work and volunteering. In other words my soul got to enjoy a pretty good karmic/creative feast. Before I jump into the post, I wanted to ask, do you volunteer? I have done it and the past and forgot how good it feels when you give back to the community, it also helps you put things into perspective. I had a volunteering session today with my co-workers at a local food bank and it was super rewarding, not only because we were lending a hand to them, but because it worked as a reminder for all of us – not everyone has the same “comfy” lives we have (by comfy I mean: a job, a roof over our heads and food on the table). There are tons of people out there that struggle to make ends meet, always trying to make the most out of every and ANY opportunity life gives them. Sometimes – because of our busy, hectic lives- we can forget to make the most out of what we have and we may not realize that we are actually OK. We are. Just take a step back and ask yourself, should I be giving this for granted? Have I said “thank you” to life lately and “I love you” to someone today?
If you don’t have time to volunteer, maybe just drop a few items at your local food bank (which usually has designated bins at the super market) and you’ll get a bit of good karma back. Little things make big differences.
Ok. So, now back to the post.
There are times you want to find a good piece of art that makes you want to sit down and reflect on it – perhaps something with intricate patterns, colors and textures. There are other times you just want something simple – maybe color on a canvas, a line, simple strokes.
Today I am feeling in the mood for the latter. So, the internet gods heard my prayers and sent these energizing paintings by Zak Prekop. I love the colors, so simple and so bold! I could have these all over my bedroom walls as a remedy for the coming winter blues. Color therapy anyone?
