I am a bit obsessed with George Korsmit. His art is right up my alley – and I’m assuming yours too. Geometry, bright colours, pattern – just put Thor’s muscles in it and I’ll marry it.
How freaking incredible is the floor above? AH! Shitballs, so inspiring.
Lately I’ve been meaning to paint but, to be honest, I’m kinda scared. A canvas is such a powerful tool of communication and I’m always thinking “Wait, is this what I really wanna say?” – I feel sooner or later I’ll have to face my fear and just paint whatever comes out (I’ve done collages with a bit of paint here and there but not a full-on, finished canvas – eeek!) I’ll have to grab the brush by the balls and get’er done, George Korsmit style.
Ok, so I think this post calls for a little bit of colour inspiration, don’t you think? I’m going to start with my favourite piece from George’s collection – “Mess up my mind mess up my mind” (hence the title on this post) an ode to colour and symmetry.
Hope these palettes help you in some way – perhaps to pick out an outfit or to decide what your next kitchen would look like, maybe even the tones on your next master piece on a canvas!

This is an awesome post. I want to live in a land full of these shapes and colours. That floor installation is breathtaking. Also love how you have styled your colour swatches. Fantastic!

Hey Chloe, Rose (below) and I were saying the same thing! I think we should start a new community where people get to colour their homes like this! Right? Thanks for the compliment :) yay

Great post! These are nothing short of spectacular! I am always blown away how something can be so simple but so beautiful.
AND I totally understand your hesitation to paint! I struggle with that big time… the one thing I have done that helps is, work on something small for 10 – 15 minutes, and if you think whatever, I hate this… start over or stop, and try again another time. It has helped me quite a bit, and I realized no one has to see my shitty stuff! ha ha! I can show off once I get REEAAL good.
okay… now that I have rambled! Can’t wait to see what you end up working on. :)

Cari! You awesome girl, you. That’s great advice, I have to really stick to the whole “do it for a bit and come back” cuz I always try to invest like 3 hours at a time and stress about it, little baby steps are the way to go! I mean after all, it’s supposed to be fun. As per usual, thanks so much for visiting.

Wow, is it me or do those color blocks seem to crawl around the canvas? I can only imagine the intensity in person. Nice post and thanks for pointing that work out.

Hey, I know, amazing what colour and patterns can make us feel. Glad you enjoyed it!

Excellent work indeed. Any of them would look great in a nice frame, on a wall. I don’t think it’s the kind of thing that looks as good on a screen. For simple me, those first impressions signal it as art more than anything I could be told about it. Love to see the ones that didn’t make the final cut.
