Hey all! Well, guess who’s back from a whirlwind of airplanes and workshop planning? Yep! C’est moi.
I am super happy to share with you a few photos and anecdotes of the workshop with you – and I say a few photos because I was so busy with students that I forgot to take photos of the workshop!! Like, can you believe it? I guess when you have 12000 things happening at once, one thing will slip your mind. At least I snapped a few with my phone! Oh well.
Our (sold out! yay) workshop in Paris was one mighty lovely experience. Rad more about it after the jump
First of all, my wonderful partner in crime, Joann of Slice of Pai, couldn’t have asked for a better workshop buddy. Even though we have worked together before, we haven’t been involved on a project of this size (organizing a workshop when we live in different countries, with different time zones, and in a different language is definitely on my list of “holy shit this is intense”), and despite the sometimes crazy moments of “oh crap! Where do we find this now?” haha it all went swell.
Now, none of this would’ve happened without our INSANELY SWEET (and talented!) students which we unofficially named “The Pineapple Gang”. Honestly, we were spoiled by these guys, they were the warmest, most engaged, and cool peeps. I know it sounds like kissing ass, but it’s true! I mean just look at these students hard at work captured by Eva from Eva in the Kitchen
During the workshop students learned how to control natural light, how to create simple vignettes, and how to style cocktails, savoury, and sweet dishes. We also had some fun in between visiting the french markets and choosing the final ingredients for our feast (pictured at the top of the post). We also went for lunch (you can see the space here) to La Pharmacie (22 Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, 75011 Paris, France) which was super tasty and classic French. The staff was very accommodating and they let us take over the tables by the window so that we could snap a photo of our lunch if needed (we totally needed it haha).
Oh! And of course, another key component of this workshop were our space sponsors: Apartments Actually. The apartment was puuurfect for the workshop: rustic, moody, and totally french. We loved having a full kitchen with two ovens so students could cook up a storm. You should definitely check them out if you need a swankier option for your travels!
Joann and I definitely learned lots from this workshop, including having to coordinate things with a 9 hour time zone difference and realizing that not every country has a West Elm to go shopping for last minute styling emergencies haha, but hey, it’s the little crazy moments that make the experience interesting. Right? We cannot wait to do it again.
Speaking of doing it again, if you haven’t heard it already, we are hosting another workshop but this time in Italy in company of a couple other great teachers! Check out the full description of our next workshop in here. Weee! On to the next one!
Now if you excuse me, I’m going to take a nap ’cause this jetlag is killing me softly :P
Thank you to Apartments Actually for letting us host the workshop in their Paris apartment and thank you to our pineapple gang for making this workshop happen.

The pineapple gang :-) What a cool nickname!
I had a blast, and you know what? I’ve been taking pictures all day and am trying to figure out Lightroom at this very moment.
Thanks for everything!
