Clean. Original. Usable. The concept is very simple, yet just a few are able to pull if off. Walrus Home is one of them.
This dashing store is full of new objects of desire. Lots of articles in the store are made by independent designers {indie love alarm!} and some others are part of FIELDWORK; a Vancouver based collaborative group of creative minds that is “obsessed over language, culinary exploits, objects, ideas and human activity”
Last week Walrus hosted FIELDWORK‘s last show of the year where designers presented their latest creations and mingled with the crowd. Caroline {the sweetest store owner on Cambie St} introduced me to some of the artists in the show {funnest peeps in town by the way} and got a chance to talk a bit about their work. I’ll make sure to showcase their talent in future posts {I will, I swear, may my blog be taken by the Jonas Bros. fan club if I don’t}
Next time you are around Cambie St. make sure to pay Walrus a visit. As Caroline explained to me, the store tries to change/add goodies all the time. They are always open to new ideas and artists that want to change the game.
Two big – sore from texting friends about how good the store is – thumbs up!
Thank you Walrus.
