So, what does the Brooklyn-based art agency Red Paper Heart does when it gets challenged to create something amazing? They throw a pool party! But it’s not your average beach-balls-and-babes party, no no amigo – this is crazy shiz.
Don’t believe me? Just watch the clip above – watch how they used 65,000 ping pong balls to project “a river of graphics, pulled by an invisible tide” – pure magic!
This is honestly one of the coolest things I’ve seen lately. Red Paper Heart did a great job at creating a super interactive show – as they mention, pool parties are notorious for people standing around, so by creating such a dynamic/fun environment, attendees can’t resist but to be part of it.
I’m gonna be honest – here comes negative Nancy! – Vancouver is a bit lame on the whole pool party scene, I mean we only get a short window of opportunity in the summer (when it’s hot enough to be out in your skimpy outfit ’til late at night) BUT – let’s turn this negative Nancy around – what about taking advantage of the cold? We have lots of hot tubs around here and indoor heated pools! I think something can be done. Aah! It would be so fun!
In the meantime, I’d love to organize a crazy party like this in a tropical place. If you’re up for it, gimme a holla! Who knows? Maybe this summer we could have our own version of 65K Ping Pong Balls. Yes?!

I said it at ALT and I’ll say it again: Palm Springs reunion 2013 – there will definitely be a pool involved. XO
